I'd love to see pictures of your rain garden! To be honest, I haven't thought about it much since we moved into our new house although we do have a few areas where I think a rain garden would work nicely. I did achieve my goal of standing out in the rain watching the water flow last month so I have a general idea of where it puddles (and wouldn't you know, it's not where I expected).

I really want a little creek like you described. Actually, I want a pond and this summer we considered getting one of those plastic pond liners big enough where I could soak in it but somehow we didn't get past putting in a baby pool for the dog. :)

I made a rain garden this year. I live in Crown Point, In. I am just now putting in the plants. My son-in-law and grandsons helped (lots). My husband is in the process of building me a bridge over it. My husband also made rain barrels (5) for the sump pump and 1 corner drain on the house, it runs into a sloped little creek we made with stones and into the rain garden. It has also been a lot of fun.
